Guanabacoa (CU)

Guanabacoa, in Cuba, is a city located 8km west of La Habana Vieja, being absorbed by La Habana, it has lost its character and traditions. The evolution of the two cities has been historically independent and each one has its own character. As a strategy to keep Guanabacoa and its traditions alive, the idea of reusing and refurbishing the old tram system was proposed. The project involves the restoration of Fesser Tram Station and the development of new cultural spaces. The actions on the existing urban structure will improve social and economic issues.
